If you are in the mood for a detective game, look no further than Shadows of Doubt. The game features an open-world sandbox with procedurally generated locations, cases, and more. It’s an awesome time, and it’s great to play on the Steam Deck so far. However, it may get a bit better thanks to a new update that was just pushed into the experimental branch for the game.

In the new update, there are a couple of awesome changes that definitely will affect your Steam Deck playthrough. Specifically, we have new default settings to help it run better out of the box and increased font sizes for lower resolutions, and 1280×800 was specifically mentioned. However, there was reduced stutter when traversing areas, memory leaks fixed, and a more aggressive rain detail slider, which should all improve performance on Deck.

We do have some bug fixes to top off the update. Some text overflow issues are gone, you can no longer interact with the camera and UI when confirm popup messages are up, and you should have better performance during the popup tutorial message on the load screen. They are small bugfixes, but definitely welcome.

You can try out the update by going to the game’s properties on Steam, going to the Beta tab, and change the branch you are on to “Experimental.” There should be no password needed to access it.
