Half Life 2 and Episodes Get Update to Fix Steam Deck UI Scaling

Half Life 2 and Episodes 1/2 get a small update to fix 2 things, including Steam Deck UI scaling when docked.

Half Life 2

Well this isn’t something I expected to see. Half Life 2 and Episodes 1 and 2 have gotten a new update today. It is super small, with only 2 fixes, but one of them fixes the Steam Deck UI scaling when it is docked:

  • Fixed UI scaling issues when docking the Steam Deck
  • Fixed broken control states when external controllers are connected

I would say the fact these were updated at all is pretty bonkers. The Half Life 2 games were released in 2004 – 2007 respectively. But…these games are amazing so I appreciate the fixes regardless! You can view this update on Steam as well.

Are you guys playing Half Life on your Steam Decks? What has your experience been like? Let us know in the comments!

Half life 2 was the first game I downloaded for the deck. I am enjoying the nostalgia and dreaming of an episode 3 again

If only it would come…one can dream can’t they? Who knows, maybe with the success of the Steam Deck, a Half Life 3 with specific Steam Deck settings and optimization could come our way T-T
