Zenless Zone Zero is one of HoYoverse’s many great games, and I really do enjoy playing it from time to time. When it comes to PC, the game has only been available on the Epic Games Store, but they recently announced that the game will be coming to Steam this year. This sparked hope for Steam Deck playability or specific optimizations, and while I had that hope too, it was slightly dashed.

Zenless Zone Zero

Mikhail Madnani over on RPGSite got confirmation from HoYoverse that the game is not going to be optimized at launch for the Steam Deck. So if there was any hope of getting some special treatment to make sure the game is playable on the go, it is gone. However, not all hope is lost.

The devs also said that players are welcome to run the game on the Deck and provide feedback for future updates. Not only does it seem like the team is inviting players to play on the Deck, but also encouraging feedback so they can optimize it in the future. Of course, this is all just speculation, but it does leave some hope that there will be changes to make it better to play on the go.

Zenless Zone Zero can be wishlisted on Steam ahead of its release.

  • Anticheat no longer flagging false positives for people running their games on linux would be a start.

I play on Steam deck through the hoyoverse launcher. It runs okay. There’s frame drops and some lag during combat, but no major crashes or anything like that. Definitely playable.

When is star rail coming to

  • The experience isn’t like super bad on Deck like experiencing it through a 3rd party launcher but def hoping Hoyo will make a preset and cut the guess work
