A new Proton GE update was pushed out that fixes Gears 5 to make it able to run again!

GloriousEggroll pushed out a small GE update today that fixes one game and only one game, Gears 5:

  • fixes regression in vkd3d-proton which allows Gears 5 to run again. Still uses EAC workaround, still single-player only. (thanks Rhedox/K0bin!)

You can view the changelog over on the Github release page.

While you still can’t play multiplayer, it is nice that owners of Gears 5 will at least be able to enjoy the singleplayer!
