Heroic Games Launcher Beta Adds Download Manager and Custom Themes

A new Heroic Games Launcher beta came out today and adds in some wonderful features including user themes and a download manager!

A new beta for Heroic Games Launcher has finally come out and boy is it a big one! This new beta adds a multitude of fixes and some incredible new features including custom user themes, a download manager, adding 3rd party apps, and a more robust online checking system. They also have a new Legendary version and fixes for UI with performance improvements:

  • Download Manager (so you can add an infinite number of games to download and go do something else while Heroic keeps working;
  • Custom user themes, just add your CSS code and load the file to change Heroic UI t your will.
  • Add apps outside Epic/GOG, for both Windows apps and also native ones. That is cool to add some Abandonwares or even other launchers to Heroic and so many more. You can even use Proton on Linux to launch any app/software you want with all options Heroic provides.
  • A more robust online checking system.
  • Updated Legendary version

There is a much bigger changelog which includes all the fixes that they made over on the Github release page. The Heroic team also suggests clearing the Heroic Cache after updating to avoid any leftover bugs that could be lingering. Regardless, this is a fantastic step forward and am very excited to see some of the user themes that will come from this!
